A tower building activity opened the Monroe Barnstormers monthly meeting at the Norma Anders Public Library on November 5, 2017. The members built towers with marshmallows and toothpicks with the goal of height and stability. The meeting was called to order at 6:12 p.m. by President Kaylin Brustkern. Secretary report was given by Sadie Hennings, and the treasurer's report by Logan Brown. New club member Taylor Baltes was welcomed.

Topics of discussion were the Market Beef Weigh-In on December 20, 2017 from 8-11 at the Benton County Fairgrounds. Commercial and breeding heifers do not need to be weighed in, but do need a breed, birth date, tattoo and registration number identified in 4-H Online by May 15. The club was reminded that each member must be registered online and dues paid by December 31, 2017.

The Monroe Barnstormers are looking for community service projects. Several members helped serve at the Dysart Firemen Breakfast on October 28, 2017. Possible projects for the holiday season were discussed, and club members were assigned to look into some options. The club welcomes community members to contact the leaders, Tim and Patricia Brown, with suggestions.

Ideas for a club outing were provided, and the members would like to go to AirFx in January. Pricing and planning will be on the agenda for the next meeting on December 3, 2017. The meeting was adjourned at 6:45 p.m.
